Eight Miles High” was originally released in 1969 by the Dutch rock band Golden Earring. It was the first album they released under their slightly shorter name, which had previously been The Golden Earrings.
The album is named after their cover of The Byrds’ “Eight Miles High”, of which the full 19-minute version is included. It is the longest track (The) Golden Ohrring has ever recorded. They recorded the entire album at Olympic Sound Studios in just 5 days. For this version of “Eight Miles”, the first-generation master tapes from Olympic Sound Studios were remastered.
