The ninth and final album in Bethlehem’s East Coast Jazz series, this 1955 release is the only one to carry an official title. Considered one of the best from “the father of bebop flute,” the album features Most’s sextet of the era: Oscar Pettiford and Burgher Jones sharing bass duties, Marty Flax on baritone, Barry Galbraith on guitar, Billy Triglia on piano and drummers Osie Johnson and Bobby Donaldson. Producer Creed Taylor launched the East Coast Jazz series in 1954 to differentiate the music emerging in New York from the new jazz coming out of Los Angeles and San Francisco.
