An evening full of emotions and unforgettable moments: Peter Maffay and his band play ‘We love Rock’n’Roll’ at the Arena in Leipzig at the end of their sold-out 2024 tour.
For Peter Maffay, it is both a ‘comeback’ and a farewell: in 1990, he gave his first ever stadium concert in Leipzig, and now he is ending the last rock’n’roll tour of his long career here. The programme consists of songs that are milestones in his musical life’s work, including ‘Sonne in der Nacht’, ‘Eiszeit’, ‘Gelobtes Land’, ‘Carambolage’, ‘Du’ and ‘Liebe wird verboten’. Many of his hits have long been classics, repeatedly reinterpreted and often covered. This includes his early hit ‘So bist du’, for which he teamed up with the American singer Anastacia for a duet: ‘Just you’ is the new version of the hit. Peter Maffay has walked ‘Over Seven Bridges’ countless times.
Leipzig 2024 Live is not only a major musical event, but also an artistic contemporary document, as it marks the end of a long journey for the musician. A new chapter begins. He gives his fans his word on this – musically, of course.
