The second album by Samoan tenor Pene Pati, entitled “Nessun Dorma” after Puccini’s famous tune, features famous opera arias but also rarities, including two world premieres. Pene Pati performs works by Italian composers such as Puccini, Verdi, Donizetti, Mascagni and Mercadante, as well as from the French school with Berlioz, Meyerbeer, Gounod, Massenet, Halévy and Guiraud. He is accompanied by his soprano wife Amina Edris, his tenor brother Amitai Pati, as well as the conductor Emmanuel Villaume, the Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine and the Choir of the Opera National de Bordeaux. Opera magazine praises its “pure and sunny timbre, its musicality and the liveliness of its interpretation”. For the tenor, “Nessun Dorma,” “sheds light on my love of the art of storytelling and the emotions it can arouse.” Available in digipack CD and limited vinyl edition.
