This is a companion to Gregory Porter’s 2013 Grammy-winning jazz vocal album “Liquid Spirit” containing additional material not released on the first record. These five bonus tracks include duets with Laura Mvula, Jamie Cullum and Ben L’Oncle Soul as well as Liquid Spirit (20syl Remix) and a St. Germain remix of Musical Genocide.
Grammy Award-winning vocalist Gregory Porter recently released ‘More Liquid Spirit – Features + Remixes‘, a 5-song highlighting collaborations from Laura Mvula, Ben L’Oncle Soul, as well as Porter’s fellow Blue Note label-mate Jamie Cullum. More Liquid Spirit kicks off with a new version of Porter’s “Water Under Bridges” alongside Laura Mvula. The EP also highlights Porter and Cullum performing a modern take on the Nina Simone popularized song “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood,” also appearring on Cullum’s upcoming Blue Note debut, Interlude. French singer-songwriter Ben L’Oncle Soul also lends his voice in More Liquid Spirit on the classic Bill Withers cut, “Grandma’s Hands.” A pair of remixes from 20Syl on the title track as well as St Germain on “Musical Genocide” can also be found on Porter’s newest recording.
