This music has been inspired by Dave Sear’s lifelong journey with anxiety and OCD. During lockdown he had a lot more time to think, and overthink, and it dawned on him that many people struggle with the same issues as him, even though he always used to think his thoughts were ‘normal’. This pushed Dave to write some music which therefore made him feel ready to release his debut album. Jazz has been a great friend and of continual support throughout the last decade of Dave’s life and he wanted to reflect that in this music. Dave has combined original compositions, contrafacts on some relevant standards and arrangements of tunes that have felt meaningful to him.
